I want more information, but I don’t know where to start?

There are a couple different ways to get started finding answers to your questions. First, you can find. a lot of answers on our website. I want to see what lessons would be like, but I don’t want to commit paying for an entire month before deciding?

We understand that it can feel daunting to commit to something new without a frame of reference, that’s why we offer a no obligation, free “intro” lesson. This experience isn’t a full lesson, but it is a no-pressure way to come into the studio, take a tour, meet the instructor, talk through what lessons will look like, and usually includes instrument demonstrations or vocal assessments. This is a great way to get a sense of what lessons will be like without the pressure of committing to a full months’ worth of tuition.

I want to learn how to play an instrument, but I can’t decide which one?

Our instructors have experience in multiple instruments and can help you decide. One of the great things about taking private lessons is that the instructor will meet each student where they are. So, if you start on piano, but feel like you’d like to switch to drums, that is completely possible. If you’re debating between two or more instruments, you may consider trying each one for a month to see which one feels like the right fit. You may also want to come in for our free “intro” lesson to try out the different options and see if anything jumps out at you.

What ages do you accept as students?

We have taught students as young as 4 and as old as their 60’s, so there isn’t a clear answer to this question. To put it simply, it depends on the student and the instrument they are wanting to learn. Our desire is for our students to have a love of music and a passion to improve their skills, so when a student isn’t ready for the private instruction, it can discourage the learning process. If you are unsure of whether your student is ready for music instruction, we recommend coming in for a free “intro” lesson to see what lessons will look like and get some feedback from your instructor. Each instructor at KMA has had experience with a wide range of ages, personalities, and learning styles, so they are well equipped to help you determine if the student is ready now or should wait a few months or years.
